PRESS RELEASE | APRIL 2021

PROMOKITCHEN BRINGS BACK WONDER.ME FOR THEIR SECOND VIRTUAL MIXER EVENT OF 2021, ANNOUNCES NEXT EDUCATIONAL SPEAKER EVENT

It’s likely that if you’ve heard of PromoKitchen, you’ve heard about the annual mixer (commonly referred to as “that killer party before Expo”) at the House of Blues each year in January.  If you’ve attended a PK Mixer in the past, it’s very likely that you were one of the 500+ attendees at their virtual mixer this past January, after PPAI’s safety-based decision to go virtual with Expo 2021.

PromoKitchen committed internally to hosting a second mixer in the spring, after the overwhelmingly enthusiastic and encouraging responses they received to their (successful) attempt at re-creating the traditional mixer.  They attribute a large portion of the positive feedback to the platform they introduced to (most) of the industry, since Wonder.me offered what has unanimously been described as “the closest thing to an in-person event since the pandemic started.”

PK Chair’s Johanna Gottlieb, Axis Promotions, and Kate Plummer, Clearmount, took the ‘stage’ to announce the recipients of the first, but certainly not the last, Tee Hamilton Creative Scholarship.  The scholarship was created to honor industry veteran and founding PromoKitchen chef, Tee Hamilton, who passed away after a long battle with cancer late last year.  The same enthusiastic and encouraging responses PromoKitchen received in January were repeated after the Spring Fling Virtual Mixer, and thanks to previous trial and error, as well as available educational content surrounding the lessons learned, there was less traffic in the troubleshooting wonder.me room, which meant more time to network and engage in the great conversations that filled the others.

Over 300 tickets were issued, and while this was a free-to-attend event, supporters of PromoKitchen collectively donated over $2,500 to the volunteer-driven organization in the weeks leading up to the mixer.  Donations will be put back into creating and elevating the educational content they provide, as well as contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance and enrich various programs, such as the rapidly growing mentorship program, and future speaker events.

It’s because of the more-than-generous donations like these from our sponsors, patrons and supporters, that we are able to provide high-caliber educational events that will hopefully impact your life and business, just as they have impacted ours.  Join us on May 13th for our next free-to-attend speaker event, PromoKitchen Presents: Dan Nevins | Overcoming & Giving Back, A Story Around Mental Health, and thank you all so much for your continuous support! - PK
