Chef Kate Plummer talks with Sous Chef Andrea Pereira of Rocket Science Branding and Jarid Taylor of Brandigenous about being Indian and Indigenous and how identity gets built and communicated.

They cover everything from land acknowledgements, to being a minority business and how they answer "So where are you from?"

Andrea Pereira owns SoCal distributorship Rocket Science Branding, a Boundless affiliate. A deeply curious mind, she’s been in and out of the industry since 2007 and is happiest when she’s ideating a way for her clients to build community through merch.

Jarid Taylor founded Brandigenous in 2019, with the goal to help change our branded merch buying habits with a focus on less waste. He uses traditional methodology and values which encourage harmony and respect amongst all living things. His focus is creating unique, quality brand designs for customers across Canada, working mostly with First Nations, Indigenous organizations and any business looking to introduce an Indigenous business into their supply chain. He is working to prepare and introduce more Indigenous suppliers into the promotional products world. Jarid is Scottish & Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw with family roots from Alert Bay, BC. He lives and works in Victoria, BC.
